From the pharmacy’s WhoIs details, we learned that the pharmacy’s domain was first registered on 14th December 2012 and it’s set to expire on 14th December 2020 if the owner does not renew the license. The domain is almost eight years old coupled with Costco’s name makes it a reliable and trustworthy business. The website also loads very fast and does not share its server with more than 1 website.
The Pharmacy’s ScamAdviser page reveals that the pharmacy is owned and operated independently by Costco Wholesale Corporation. Costco is a reputable and established name that began its operation in 1976 and currently listed on Nasdaq and S&P stock exchanges. The pharmacy primarily serves the following areas in Canada – Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Labrador, Newfoundland, and Quebec. The contact details are working and you can reach out to them via their Contact Us page and one of their representatives will contact you soon. Additionally, the data reveals that the business is operated from two countries – the United States and Canada.
Unfortunately, the pharmacy is not authorized by CIPA, and LegitScript does not have the pharmacy in its database. However, there is no need to worry because it is a subsidiary of Costco and is also licensed by Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists.
The pharmacy offers several prescribed medications covering numerous diseases and illnesses, including:
✔ Allergy, Asthma, Arthritis
✔ Diabetes, Flu, Stress
✔ Ulcer and Others
You need to have a valid prescription to order their products. They keep electronic records of your prescription which is updated once you make a new order. The pharmacy also positions itself as a health center and prioritize to look after your health instead of just selling medications. They offer pharmacist consultation to review your prescription, help you to quit smoking, assist you with weight loss and nutrition, provide immunization, provide heart and health advice along with diabetes, osteoporosis assistance. They do all this in private in consultation rooms.
Their products and services are extremely affordable but not to the extent that they raise eyebrows. They just want to take their medications and services within reach of every single member of the areas they serve.
The pharmacy accepts payments made using Visa and Mastercard only. They also accept your insurance plan to pay for your medications. Their payment getaway is fully SSL encrypted, something you would expect from such a large and established retailer and you don’t have to worry about identity theft while buying medications.
The pharmacy offers expedited shipping to ensure you get your prescribed medicines on time. If you ordering your first prescription, then your doctor needs to phone or fax it in to the pharmacy. Once this procedure is completed or you need a refill prescription, you can expect your order delivered within 3 to 5 business days via Costco Mail Order Pharmacy. They give every order a tracking number so you can track your order whenever you want to. The pharmacy also does not ship internationally and only ships within Canada.
Surprisingly, there is hardly any customer testimonial on the internet for such a large pharmacy. The pharmacy does not have a testimonial page and to make matter worse, TrustPilot doesn’t have any CostcoPharmacy.ca reviews posted on their platform either. However, there were some comments posted on Yelp which gives some idea about the quality of their products and services. The pharmacy largely has positive feedback and they look to be quite genuine too.
One thing that goes massively in its favor that it is a subsidiary of Costco, which allows us to overlook some of its negative aspects such as no CIPA, LegitScript approval, no customer reviews on TrustPilot, etc. The pharmacy also has a high trust score on ScamAdviser and largely positive reviews on Yelp. Overall, a reputed pharmacy but not without flaws. We give this pharmacy a 3 out of 5 stars based on our investigation.
